Join us for CCC's Lent Experience! Our Lent Observance will begin on Ash Wednesday, February 14th, and over the course of the 40 days leading up to Resurrection Sunday. Click here to register now.
CCC is not observing our traditional week of corporate fasting with one meal a day. The 40 days of Lent is a time to turn down outside noises and distractions that keep us from spending time in the Word (the Holy Bible) and growing deeper in our relationship with our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.
O Most Holy and Everlasting Father, who forgives the sin of all who believe in Jesus as the Son of God, and confess him as risen Lord, look with compassion upon those still of this world, that their hearts might open to revelation to the identity of the Son of Man, and many would believe: We pray to You, Father, in the name of Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Heavenly Father, who rewards Christian disciples with transformative revelation, freeing them from bondage to sin: liberate us from the false security of our natural heritage, that, trusting in Christ alone, we would escape Satan’s grasp, released to prosper in a life of obedient faith: Through God the Father, Christ our Lord, and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever. Amen.
Almighty God, you who reward the seeker with wisdom for daily life, strength to pursue your will, and grace to reach beyond our own abilities: permit our labors to bear abundant fruit for you, that we might walk in the fullness of our inheritance, achieving greatness by inspiring others to serve you, through Jesus Christ our Lord, who reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, eternally. Amen.
O Lord, our rock, our shield, and our refuge, who answers our cries for help in times of distress: defend us as we speak your Word and do works in your name, that our persecutors might stumble, and many would come to believe. We pray to you in Jesus’s name, with the Holy Spirit’s power. Amen.
O Lord, no matter how far we wander, you call us constantly back to you: Gather us from every distraction and division. Unite us under the banner of Christ, cleansed from the influence of idols, that the church would glorify you as one and the nations would see your transforming power; this we ask in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
All-knowing and Almighty God, So great is your love for us that, you sent our savior to dwell among us, both fully human, and fully divine, giving us the ultimate example of humility in service: Give us today the grace to humble ourselves, to suffer with Christ, that we might reign with Him. Empower our acts of sacrificial love, that we might contribute to the growth of your Kingdom: through Christ our Lord, who reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, eternal. Amen.
Almighty God, who sent Christ to enter into the Holy place, obtaining our eternal redemption through the shedding of his own blood: further our sanctification today, purifying our conscience from dead works, to free us to worship you, so that we who are called may walk daily in the fruit of our eternal inheritance, enjoying the victory over sin that the Resurrection offers us: through Jesus Christ our Lord, who reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God. Amen.
O Sovereign Lord, you who use foolish things to shame the wise: Give us, by your Spirit, power to proclaim Christ crucified, that the world would come to know your wisdom and power in subjecting your sinless Son to a shameful execution to save the low and despised; in Christ our Lord and King, who reigns in majesty with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, eternal. Amen.
Lord God, whose son endured the cross, despising the shame, and now sits at your right hand: Give us grace to remain faithful in times of temptation, that we would run with perseverance the race set before us; through Jesus Christ our Lord, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Almighty Father, whose precious Son loved to the end even those he knew would fail and betray him: Grant us the character of servant leadership that would wash the feet of our brothers and sisters. May our love for one another show the world we are Christ’s disciples; through God the Father, Jesus Christ our Lord, and the Holy Spirit, our Helper. Amen.
Almighty God, whose son was willingly wounded for our transgressions and crushed for our iniquities, enduring betrayal and crucifixion without protest: Grant us the grace to endure our own trials, that your will should prosper also through us, in Christ our Lord, who reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, eternal. Amen.
O God, Creator of heaven and earth: Grant us patience as we endure the silent Saturdays that stand between catastrophe and triumph, and as the crucified body of Jesus was laid in the tomb and rested on this holy Sabbath, so we may also rest in the assurance that the dead in Christ shall rise when Jesus returns in glory. This we ask in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever. Amen.
O God, who anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power for a ministry of teaching, healing, and deliverance, but allowed him to be put to death on the cross before raising him again on the third day: grant us power to die daily to ourselves, that we might glorify you with our days, lived in anticipation of our Heavenly Reward; in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, One God, eternal in victory. Amen.
O Lord, our God,who righteously judges by the spirit of the law, when we religiously cling to its letter: we pray you would show grace to your children who stumble, that they, free from the condemnation of human standards, would follow Christ, no longer walking in darkness, but instead possessing the light of life: through Christ our King, who reigns in majesty with you and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Almighty God,who resurrects the dead through the power of your word and the move of your Spirit: liberate us from our flesh’s hostility toward your will, that we might set our minds on your Spirit and experience the life and peace that come with His indwelling: through God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
O Gracious and Almighty God, who extends mercy when wrath would be justified: Empower us by your spirit to reach the lost. Let rivers of living water flow out of our believing hearts, that even non-believers would sense the presence of God in our speech and conduct: through Jesus Christ our Lord, who reigns eternally with you and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
O Majestic and Compassionate Lord, who delivers the righteous out of every trouble: Grant us the boldness to speak openly about Jesus, and the grace to live transformed lives, that people who know us would see Him, and come to know Him for themselves: We pray to you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, by the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Almighty and most merciful God, Who time and again spares us disaster, even when we turn aside from your commands: Fill our hearts to overflowing with your love, and protect us from respect of persons and false idols, that our works might testify that you have sent us. We pray in the name of Jesus, who reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, co-equal, co-eternal. Amen.
O God of grace and Compassion, whose faithful words and patient love permit us a process of maturation through the seasons of our lives: Give us food to nourish our spirits, that we might be not merely satisfied but transformed; by Your grace, in Christ’s name, and the Holy Spirit’s power. Amen.
O God, our refuge and strength, who enables us to walk in victory independent of people or circumstance: Quench our thirst with the living water of your Holy Spirit, that we might gain wisdom and power to serve you; in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
O Lord, Our God, you who hear and answer every cry: restore our health, Father, in spirit, soul, and body. Remove our garments of mourning and clothe us with joy; throughYou, our Father, Jesus Christ our Lord, and the Holy Spirit our Comforter, one God, eternal. Amen.
Oh Sovereign and Almighty God, You who remove kings and raise up others. Look beyond outward appearances to search our hearts, that you might call us according to the purpose you’ve ordained for our lives. Move miraculously on our behalf to reveal your glory in us. This we ask in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Oh, God of Wonders, and Sovereign Lord, whose arrival in our lives announces new seasons of possibility: Favor us with seeds of purpose. Reveal your presence and the reason for our being, that, submitting to your plan, we might take our intended place in your redemption story; In the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
O Merciful Father, whose majestic shadow covers little children and great nations alike: keep us from transgressions that would cause us to stumble. Give us wisdom to avoid the snares of idol worship and self-exaltation. May we, instead, love you with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and love our neighbor as ourselves, that we might experience your Kingdom on Earth. We pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, co-equal in glory and honor. Amen.
O Gracious God, you who forgive great debts, and reveal to us a standard of greater mercy: Pardon our transgressions. Grant us new understanding through your Word, that we might follow you in the paths of righteousness, restoration, and love. To you, in the name of Jesus, with the help of the Holy Spirit we pray, Amen.
O Lord, our maker, who leads your people as a loving shepherd does sheep: Soften our hearts, and sensitize us to your voice. Remind us of your faithfulness in times past, that we might submit, and not wander for years in a wilderness season of our own making. We pray, O God, through Jesus Christ your Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Gracious Father, whose Word guides us towards righteousness and away from ruin: Grant us wisdom for today. Anoint our common sense. Make us living testimonies to the power of your Holy Spirit working in willing hearts, that we might bear witness to your goodness, and cultivate faith traditions we can share with others. We pray in the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Amen.
